Fort Worth
Hacienda, copper and onyx furniture for Fort Worth homes
Fort Worth knows Western furniture. Our San Antonio showroom adds a second accent: hacienda case goods, copper and onyx. Here is where they fit in the city's houses, and how to shop from Fort Worth.
Fort Worth houses
Where hacienda pieces fit
Most of the City of Fort Worth's 14 historic districts are bungalow, Tudor, Arts and Crafts and midcentury neighborhoods. Spanish Eclectic houses are the exception: the Ponton House of about 1920 in Mistletoe Heights, by architect Joseph R. Pelich, has white stucco walls and flat roofs trimmed in red tile, and it is listed in the National Register.
In a house like that, hacienda case goods, copper and onyx belong. In a bungalow or Tudor house, use one as an accent. In a house that already leans Western, a copper or onyx piece adds contrast rather than more of the same.
- Stucco and red tile: hacienda case goods, copper and iron.
- Bungalow or Tudor: one copper dresser or onyx table as the room's accent.
- Western room: onyx or copper beside the leather, not more leather.
