How The Rustic Gallery handles information from enquiries and visits to rustic.gallery.

Information we collect

When you send an enquiry, we collect your name, phone number, email address and message, along with the piece or page you ask about. We also record the IP address the enquiry came from, the page where you sent it, the page where you first arrived, the referring website, and any campaign tags or ad click identifiers in the link you followed. Please do not put sensitive health or financial details in your message.

If you use the chat on our website, we keep your messages and our replies, the piece page you were viewing when you wrote, and your name and email address if you choose to give them. A person at our store answers the chat; there is no automated reply. Please do not send card numbers, passwords or other sensitive details in the chat.

Our API server logs requests it receives, including the IP address, requested address, date, time and result, to help run and protect the site. Our own website analytics measure page use, link taps and form steps without recording what you type, your IP address or your contact details. Analytics can also record campaign tags and ad click identifiers from links. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we do not record analytics events and do not keep ad click identifiers with your enquiry. We still receive the information you submit and the technical request log.

How we use and share it

We use enquiry details to respond and keep a record of our correspondence. We do not use your contact details to send marketing. We use logs to run and protect the site, and analytics and campaign information to understand which pages and campaigns bring enquiries. We do not sell personal information or share it for other companies' advertising. Our website and database host (Liquid Web) processes information for us. Our email provider (Google) handles messages you send directly to info@therusticgallery.com. We may disclose information when law requires it.

Storage and your choices

Website analytics are deleted automatically after 395 days. We have not yet set an automatic deletion schedule for enquiries; server logs rotate by storage size rather than after a fixed number of days. Backup copies may retain information after it is removed from the live database. You may ask to see, correct or delete information about you by emailing info@therusticgallery.com or calling (210) 495-4120. We may need to confirm your identity and may retain information when required for a purchase or by law.

Cookies, other sites and changes

Browsing the public site does not set cookies. A browser tab may hold a random visit code and the first page and campaign tags in session storage while that tab is open. If you use the chat, your browser keeps a random chat code in its local storage for up to 30 days so the conversation can continue. Clearing your browser's site data removes it. We do not load third-party analytics or advertising scripts on these pages. A link such as Directions opens another website, whose own privacy notice applies. This site is not directed to children under 13. We will announce material changes by updating this page and its effective date. An adviser-reviewed full notice will replace this interim notice.
